A great opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accountant to join a international developer and manager of shopping malls, and support the Property Management Accounting department in Germany. You’ll maintain and analyse accounting records, prepare month-end reports, and handle ad hoc analyses. You’ll also manage statutory accounts, annual service charge documentation, fiscal and VAT compliance, and audits for our German Outlet centers. Treasury and bank-related tasks are also part of your role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare statutory financial statements for German entities.
  • Oversee annual service charge reconciliations.
  • Provide information and support to external auditors.
  • Assist with corporate audits and liaise with the Group Audit Manager.
  • Maintain fiscal records and support tax compliance and audits.
  • Prepare and reconcile VAT returns.
  • Assist with monthly management accounts and reconciliations.
  • Collaborate on financial reporting and provide SOX documentation.
  • Manage treasury tasks, including bank account monitoring and administration.
  • Support administrative tasks for investor changes and Workday implementations.
  • Implement global processes and additional Workday functionalities.
  • Handle other ad hoc tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant with post-qualification experience.
  • Knowledge of German GAAP.
  • Experience with statutory accounts, fiscal matters, and audits.
  • Familiarity with accounting systems (ERP experience is a plus).
  • Advanced Excel skills; intermediate Word and Outlook skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Fluent in German and proficient in English.
