Legal Associate – Commercial Litigation

Our client, an international and prestigious law firm with offices across Europe and in the UK, dealing with corporate and commercial cases is looking for an Associate to join their growing Birmingham office to provide legal services to the firm’s clients. This is a fulltime, permanent position based in Birmingham and is fully office-based.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing high-quality legal services
• Build strong relationships with external stakeholders
• Work in accordance with procedures and quality standards
• Achieve targets for billing and time recording

About you:

In this role you will be providing high-quality legal services to the firm’s clients, predominantly in relation to high-value commercial disputes with a cross-border element (particularly involving Italy and Spain). The commercial disputes team generally pursues claims in the High Court, County Courts, via arbitration and actively encourages mediation where appropriate.

Profile:

• Qualified solicitor, barrister or fellow of the CILEx
• Expert in key areas of law and procedure
• Able to cover own caseload
• Commercial and financial awareness including the ability to take responsibility for financial control of own client matters
• Able to meet deadlines and manage a heavy workload
